It seems perfect that my first blog post is about work I did with such an amazing organization. Triangle Down Syndrome Network is a nonprofit support, resource and advocacy organization for individuals, families, and professionals Their mission is to empower, connect and support parents and families of children with Down Syndrome, their families and the community.
In February I had the privilege to photograph their annual Mardi Gras Benefit and Celebration. I met several self-advocates and so many amazing kids! Karaoke, Dancing and a great time was had by all. I’m so glad to have met them and been introduced to the work they do.
World Down Syndrome was held on March 21st. This year, Kristen Cooper hosted families and self-advocates for a lovely evening at the Executive Mansion. I got to meet some of the younger kids and their families. There were booths set up for Self-advocates to share their work, skills, knowledge, and businesses! It was an informative evening full of life and celebration!
